New BMSB requirements for cargo from Europe to Oceania

Due to recent occurrences of Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs that were found aboard cargo shipped from Europe to Oceania, the Governments of Australia and New Zealand have mandated that shippers take certain measures to protect cargo bound for Oceania to minimize the risks involved in transporting this hazardous species of bugs.

If the shipping industry does not take the required precautions to prevent the spread of this dangerous species of bugs, authorities may be forced to implement costly and timely pre-load treatments as has been necessary for cargo originating in the United States since 2015.
