Equipment manufacturers in Australia are set to enjoy improved speed to market and greater visibility of parts inventory thanks to the opening of WW Solutions’ new dedicated technical services facility in Melbourne.
The equipment processing centre (EPC), which also focuses on specialised parts management, opened in Derrimut in April. Derrimut is about 14km from the MIRRAT terminal in Melbourne.
Built to meet the growing demands of the truck, bus, agricultural and construction markets, the EPC houses a dedicated truck assembly workshop, which is run according to global 5S and Lean Six Sigma principles.
The facility is organised using new warehousing infrastructure and nationally-implemented parts management software, which is also in use across WW Solutions’ processing centres in Perth, Melbourne, Port Kembla and Brisbane.
Like the nearby processing site in Laverton, WW Solutions’ Derrimut EPC offers processing options and capabilities for the growing mining and crane equipment markets.
“The investment in our newest facility in Derrimut has created significant assembly and fleet fitting capacity, which can be effectively used across our customer base,” said Paul Gibbs, National Operations Manager, WW Solutions Australia. “It offers 6,000m2 of dedicated floor-to-ceiling racking for all of our customers’ parts management requirements.”
