With a yearly GDP growth of around 6 percent over the last decade and forecasted growth on similar levels, Indonesia is one of the rising economic stars in the region. The country has managed to fulfill many of its fiscal targets, including a significant drop in debt-to-GDP ratio, making it well prepared for future challenges. For WWL, Indonesia has long been a vital import market and a important contributor of both the Asia to North America and Intra Asia trades.

The role of Indonesia Owners representative will be taken on by Bjorn Karlsson who will be based in Jakarta from Aug 15th 2013. Bjorn has extensive experience with more than 30 years in the shipping industry having been based in Europe, the US, the Middle East and Asia in various positions within the group.

In his current position as Managing Director , Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) Thailand, Bjorn oversees the running of the company and the business/market development. He has also held a similar role for WSS in Indonesia in the past.
