Anti-fouling paint

We are very happy that the international convention banning the use of tributyltin-based antifouling paints on ships finally took effect on September 17, 2008.

In 2000, before the ban was ratified, WWL prohibited the use of TBT-based antifouling paints, which poison marine life, on the ships we operate. Non-TBT alternatives were already available then, and we decided to use them instead.

By showing that environmental stewardship and good business go hand in hand, we continue to push the environmental agenda forward and challenge others to follow.
