Lifetime learning

To succeed, we must continually look for new ideas beyond existing products, services and ways of working. That is why we place particular focus on programmes to advance professional and personal growth.

These include leadership development programmes, including joint cooperation with IMD Business School; a Talent Management Programme to develop competence at all levels of the organization; and our People Performance programme, which especially recognises individual achievements attained through practising our company values.

People Performance

This past year, we invested in People Performance - a performance management system that integrates our long-term strategy into our daily work in a clear and measurable way. People Performance builds on the formal Performance Dialogues between our managers and their direct reports and establishes a clearer link between company values and performance with focus on regular, structured feedback. At the core is the idea that its not only what you achieve that matters, but how you achieve it.

Talent management

During 2008, WWL completed its first global talent review. As part of the WWL global Talent Management Programme, the review is aimed at ensuring that equal opportunity is provided for all employees to develop their talents, and that talent stays within the company. The programme builds on existing competence development activities, including leadership development, business-specific training and our People Performance process.

Leadership development

To ensure ongoing leadership succession, WWL grooms the managers of today into the leaders of tomorrow. During a 12-month Global Leadership Development Programme (GLDP), WWL managers identified through our Talent Management Programme enhance their skills by addressing topics such as strategic management and change, organisational excellence, global mindset, cultural challenge and managing complex global organisations. The GLDP is conducted in cooperation with IMD Business School.
