Christmas Spirit in Mexico
Arms laden with gifts and a veritable feast, WWL employees from our Mexico City office contributed to Christmas festivities at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Foster Home in Toluca, Mexico. In October 2008, WWL Mexico City pledged to sponsor the shelter, which is home to some 70 girls, between the ages of 3 and 17, who are orphans or who come from dysfunctional homes.
On December 6, WWL staff organised a host of activities, from games and arts and crafts to miniature golf, for the girls. No Mexican fiesta would be complete without the traditional piñata bashing, followed by sandwiches, cakes, cookies, juices and age-appropriate toys and other goodies.
"The girls' vibrant mood signalled just how happy they were to be part of the celebration," says Julieta Martinez, WWL Customer Care and Documentation. "It was especially rewarding to be able to brighten the lives of these children at Christmas. But we look forward to helping the girls throughout the year."
