Global Traineeship at WWL
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics' Global Traineeship Program is a key element in our company strategy to attract and retain young talents with development potential for a future management and/or expert career within Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.
In the 2007-2008 program, nine highly talented Trainees go through a 15 month program where they work in their home region as well as two other regions. Each trainee has an individual program developed for him or her, based on the competence needed for an intended future role within our company. Their focus areas are set by the managers at the beginning of the program. The goal at the end of the traineeship is for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics to offer employment and retain all Trainees.
The 2005-2006 Global Traineeship Program was concluded in October 2006. All of the six former Trainees now hold challenging roles in the organisation, some in their home region, and others overseas.

Jonathan Dexter
Jonathan Dexter was part of the 2005-2006 Program, and now works in the Melbourne office. His days are devoted to developing Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics business in Australia.
"Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics places a great deal of emphasis on employee engagement and the degree to which an individual can advance both personally and professionally", says Jonathan.
"In retrospect, the best experience gained from the Traineeship was the network that came from interacting with so many different people across a broad range of functions."

Hae-Ok Kwon
Hae-Ok Kwon is participating in the 2007-2008 Program which started in June 2007. He has already moved between a variety of sites in China and Korea and gained first-hand experience of several teams and jobs. From November 2007 he has been working in the Central Office in Oslo.
"I hope to become an expert, with firm technical knowledge, who can introduce our logistics solutions to customers in the Korean market. It seems to me that WWL has a clear picture of its strategy and the solutions on offer to its customers," says Hae-Ok and adds he would certainly recommend the program to future candidates.

Renata Khassanova
Renata Khassanova obtained a masters degree International Economics Management in England before moving to Sweden. She applied to the 2007-2008 Program after seeing it advertised on the Internet. "It seemed like a good opportunity to get involved in an exciting logistics business for young professionals," she says.
Renata spent six weeks of the Traineeship in Bremen, in Germany, where she also had the experience of one week in the Bremerhaven port and travel on a vessel from Gothenburg in Sweden to Zeebrugge in Belgium.
"I have seen how professional people are everywhere you go in the company. To see real port and cargo operations and meet real professionals is the most exciting so far", Renata says.
Renata?s focus throughout the Traineeship is "Commercial and Supply Chain Management". At the conclusion of the Traineeship she hopes to gain a full understanding of all five products that WWL offers and to be involved in real projects and build a strong network of people in the company.
"I would absolutely recommend the experience of this Traineeship. It's a great opportunity to be exposed to an international environment at a global company".
