Automotive Supply Chain Magazine have given their prestigious «Logistician of the Year» award to Christopher J. Connor, president & CEO of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, the global shipping and logistics company. The award goes to «the individual who has shown the highest standards of innovation and commitment to supply chain excellence», and was presented to Mr Connor by last years winner, Steve Harley of Ford Motor Company, at the recent Automotive Supply Chain Congress in Liverpool.

In their announcement, the organisers stated: "Chris Connor, appointed President and CEO earlier this year, has been a central member of the WWL executive team as well as Deputy CEO, making the company’s factory to dealer strategy a reality."

Nominations for the magazine’s annual awards comes from Logistics companies of all types, individuals and third parties such as OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). A panel of independent judges reviews and researches all nominees, before collectively deciding upon the winner in each category.

In his response to winning the award, Mr Connor said, “It takes a whole company to achieve the supply chain excellence that our customers expect us to deliver. This award goes to all the great people at WWL in recognition of their work every day to uphold our mission to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. It’s a vote of confidence from our customers and great encouragement for us as a company.”
