“We are developing our organisation to make sure that WWL employees can focus on what matters most to the customer, and that we can be there with the right competence and resources at the right time.”

The main change has been a shift from working with four geographical business units to two Market Performance Areas (MPA): Atlantic and Asia Pacific. This creates a leaner organisation and puts the focus on the connectivity of WWL’s markets, strengthening the offering to customers. The name Market Performance Area reflects a clear focus on performance across the company with an emphasis on market development and customer satisfaction.

The Atlantic MPA is led by Ray Fitzgerald in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, USA.  Richard Heintzelman will be Head of Commercial for Atlantic West (North America and South America) and Erik Noeklebye will be Head of Commercial for Atlantic East (Europe, Africa and Middle East).

The Asia Pacific MPA is led by Axel Bantel in Tokyo, Japan. Head of Commercial for Asia Pacific is Johan Stahlberg.

In addition WWL has created a single trade management and ocean operations centre to ensure faster decision making, led by Fridtjof Næss. The offshoring as well as outsourcing of administration, IT and finance functions continues. At the same time the company is investing in training and development within the commercial organisation to better ensure customer satisfaction.

The organizational changes at WWL are a big step towards focussing on their customers and being there for them with the right competence and resources at the right time.

In short, WWL is getting organised to stay a step ahead. Chris Connor, President & CEO of WWL, comments: “Manufacturers today operate complex and sophisticated outbound supply chains. They understand how very interdependent product delivery is with production, capital needs and, ultimately, end customer satisfaction. We are developing our organisation to make sure that WWL employees can focus on what matters most to the customer, and that we can be there with the right competence and resources at the right time.”
