WWL Vehicle Services’ facility at the Honda plant in Greensburg, Indiana, recently received special recognition by the Association of American Railroads (AAR) in the “Highest Quality Review Score for Original Facilities” category for the period covering June 2013 to May 2014.

The award recognises the contractor that best manages the yard, loads vehicles into the railcars and secures them properly to ensure they do not shift during shipment, thus reducing damages and defects. While multiple facilities are audited every year by the AAR, only one receives an award in each category.

“This performance-based accomplishment rewards WWL’s commitment to understanding our customers’ needs with a focus on quality, safety and delivery,” says Charlie Shelhorn, WWL Facility Manager at Greensburg.

The AAR is an industry trade group representing the major freight railroads of Canada, Mexico and the US. It works to improve the efficiency, safety and service of the railroad industry through its interchange rules and equipment specifications.
