When a market grows to this extent we want to be close in order to support our customers logistics needs.

In response to the increased export out of Spain over the last years as well as OEMs relocation of production to Spain, WWL has decided to establish its own branch office in Barcelona.

“While Spain and Portugal have been suffering hard from the economic downturn in Europe over the past few years, we have also seen a trend where OEMs have relocated production to Spain,” says Erik Noeklebye, Head of Region Europe. “When a market grows to this extent we want to be close in order to support our customers logistics needs.”

The WWL office will take over from Agencia Maritima Espanola Evge S.A, WWL’s agent in the region for nearly 30 years. Eight agency employees will be transferred to WWL, together with Ramon Oliete, the new Head of Iberia Branch.

“This will enable us to maintain our market knowledge and customer relationships, ensuring a seamless transition for our customers. On a day-to-day basis the customer will see no change in working routines”, says Beatrice Erikson, Manager Agencies & Marketing, Region Europe.

The new branch office will integrate and further develop WWL’s existing land-based and ocean logistics services to the Iberian market, creating a stronger offering of multimodal service solutions.
