It was a great privilege to be asked to participate as a judge.

The awards, which were presented to selected John Deere employee teams in recognition of outstanding achievement and stewardship were presented at an award ceremony in Quad Cities, USA, in September 2012.

The three winning projects were the JD Pune Works Paint Shop Process Optimisation initiative, a JD Turf Care Storm Water & Irrigation project and a JD Global Crop Harvesting Product Development Centre Wetland Preservation project.

Roger Strevens, WWL’s new Head of Environment, was the WWL representative on the judging panel.

“It was a great privilege to be asked to participate as a judge,” he says. “Although WWL has close ties to the ocean, while John Deere’s roots lie in the land, both companies honour their heritage through the pursuit of environmental best practice. As a result both companies are seen as environmental leaders in their respective industries.”
