Toyota has unveiled a brand-new concept car – the Fun-Vii – scheduled for introduction in the year “20XX”. The futuristic vehicle, which made its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, is a black, wedge-shaped obelisk, covered entirely by a video display screen.
“Some of you might have thought to yourselves: ‘Is this really a car?” said Toyota Motor Corp. President Akio Toyoda, at the unveiling. “It’s like a smartphone on wheels.”
The “skin” of the car can be customised to display anything from stock quotes to pictures, while other features include an auto pilot function and a 3D hologram avatar. The Fun-Vii is said to offer a fourth dimension of interconnectivity, by helping drivers with everything from en-route shopping to avoiding traffic hazards.
