The discovery channels recently premiered a program called World’s Top 5 Mighty Transporters. Taking the top spot was WWL’s massive Mark V vessel M/V Tonsberg. The program followed a typical day for the vessel during a stop at the ports of Zeebrugge and Bremerhaven.

Over an eight-hour period, under the supervision of Chief Officer Knut Erik Holte, WWL’s crew can be seen offloading automobiles from the USA and loading new equipment, including a huge locomotive destined for Australia. Best of all, M/V Tonsberg steamed out of Zeebrugge an hour ahead of schedule.

In an average far MV Tonsberg:

  • Travels three times round the world
  • Visits four continents on each round the world voyage
  • Calls at 75 ports
  • Carries 145000 tonnes of cargo
