Built upon the Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Policy implemented in 2013, WWL launched a mandatory e-learning for all office employees in 2014.  By the end of the year, 94% of all office employees had completed the training. In addition, training and risk assessment sessions were conducted for selected groups of WWL employees and agents.

In addition to the training sessions and as part of WWL’s continuous efforts to train employees on Competition Compliance & Anti-Trust Laws, a general presentation on WWL’s Competition Compliance Framework and the Competition and Anti-Trust Compliance principles that apply to our service offerings in the countries where we operates was distributed to all WWL AS employees, including branch offices,.   

ABAC compliance was also one of the main focus areas for the QMS audits across WWL. The outcome and feedback from the audits was used to further improve and simplify our internal processes to enable efficient and compliant business operations.

In 2014, WWL also introduced a new Verification of Business Partner process. Through screening business partners from a compliance dimension, WWL can avoid entering into business with partners that are listed on official sanction lists or otherwise are involved in non-compliant practices.      

WWL continued its work as a founding member of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN), by supporting its various collective actions. For its efforts to create an industry wide compliance culture through best practice sharing and collective action initiatives, the MACN won the 2015 Innovation in Anti-Bribery Compliance Award by TRACE International, a non-profit business organization promoting commercial transparency of multinational companies worldwide.
